What you need to know about gift certificates

Fameo gift certificates come in the minimum £50.00 and maximum £5,000.00 denominations. They are convenient, practical and make great gifts for friends, family and loved ones. Gift certificates may be used towards the purchase of any jewellery in our extensive online catalogue. Please note, that an electronic version of our gift certificates are redeemable only online and only at Fameo website and cannot be used at any traditional retail store.

All Fameo gift certificates have an authentic (security) feature, expiration date and unique claim code. You can find that 17-character string of letters and numbers on your gift certificate beneath your personal gift message and to the left of the expiration date. This code is used to redeem the gift certificate, whether it be online or by post. The only way you can redeem a gift certificate is with the gift certificate code.

If the amount of your gift certificate exceeds the amount of your purchase, we will place the balance in your gift certificate account. Any unused gift certificate funds will remain in your account at Fameo.co.uk until the expiration date and you may check your gift certificate balance at any time through your account.

Redeeming your gift certificate online

All gift certificates will be checked for validity prior to the order despatch. When taking advantage of a gift certificate, please be sure to read the entire list of restrictions associated with that gift certificate, if any. To redeem your gift certificate at Fameo website:

Place your items in the shopping basket and go to the order checkout;
During the order checkout, select the "Pay with your account, saved card or gift certificate" option;
In the payment option screen find the gift certificate box and enter your gift certificate 17-character claim code and click the "Update" button;
If you are not using the full amount of your gift certificate, the remaining credit will be shown. We will place the balance in your account, which you will be able to apply to another order at a later date;
If the amount of the gift certificate is less than the total of your order, it will now be reflected in the total amount due. We will be able to pay the difference by credit card or other payment method of your choice.

To redeem more than one gift certificate, enter multiple claim codes and use commas between each.

Redeeming your gift certificate by post

Fameo paper gift certificates should be sent by first class mail no later than 30 working days before the gift certificate expiration date, along with the return address and printed copy of your order or newspaper coupon to:

It is essential that you enclose the item catalogue page, mail offer or newspaper coupon. Do not write your order reference number and/or your full name on the reverse of the gift certificate. Your paper gift certificate will be checked for validity and authenticity prior to the order despatch.

Limitations and disclaimer

Gift certificates are not subject to shipping, handling or VAT;
Gift certificates cannot be redeemed at any other website operated by Fameo, its affiliates, or third-party merchants accessible from this website;
Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for a cash refund;
Electronic versions of gift certificates may only be redeemed at Fameo website towards the purchase of products listed in the online catalogue;
Electronic versions of gift certificates cannot be redeemed offline. Paper versions of gift certificates can be redeemed both offline and online;
You cannot use a gift certificate to purchase another gift certificate;
Gift certificates are not transferable or assignable;
Gift certificates cannot be cancelled by the purchaser of the gift certificate once they have been redeemed in part or in full;
The gift certificate must be redeemed before the expiry date that appears on the certificate. Gift certificates and unused portions of gift certificates expire one year from the date of issue. Once the certificate has expired we are unable to extend the expiry date;
Fameo normal terms and conditions apply to all purchases, except where they conflict with these terms and conditions;
Fameo will have the right to close customer accounts and request alternative forms of payment if a fraudulently obtained gift certificate is either redeemed through Fameo website or is redeemed and used to make purchases at Fameo website;
Gift certificates cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Fameo is not responsible for lost or stolen gift certificates.

FAMEO MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO GIFT CERTIFICATES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN THE EVENT A GIFT CERTIFICATE CLAIM CODE IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND OUR SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH GIFT CERTIFICATE.
