What you need to know about cheques, bank drafts and postal orders
If you would like to make a payment for your order of the jewellery by cheque, simply select this option during the order checkout process and send us a cheque or postal order in pounds sterling for the total amount of your order (including delivery charge). Generally, there are three types of cheques, which you can use at your convenience: personal cheque, bank draft and postal order.
- Personal cheque
- Cheques are written orders from account holders (you) instructing their banks to pay specified sums of money to named beneficiaries (us). The cheque you send us may show on our account straight away, but if it is drawn on another bank or branch, we will not receive payment for it for at least three days, or in some cases Building Society cheques may take up to five working days. We are only able to accept cheques drawn on a UK bank.
- Your rights
- If you buy something with your credit card from us, you have the same rights as if you went in and paid over the counter in cash. In fact, you have some extra rights, including a cooling off period, so if you don“t like something you can send it back. For more information please refer to our Returns Policy.
- Bank draft
- Bank drafts are cheques drawn directly on the account of a bank rather than your account. A bank will issue a bank draft when asked by you, but there may be a written application form, which you will have to complete. Bank drafts normally take three working days to clear and we are able to accept any bank draft denominated in pounds sterling.
- Postal order
- Postal orders can be bought at any Post Office branch in the UK, and come in fixed denominations. You should have the Fameo Ltd name printed on the new style Postal Orders -- making them even more secure. Postal orders normally take one working day to clear and we are only able to accept postal orders denominated in pounds sterling.
And finally, please note that if you are paying by cheque, it will take longer for your order to reach you, as we can only process and send out your order after your cheque is received and your funds are cleared.
